Lesson 2 Part 2: The War in Singapore

In February 1942, the Japanese, who were allies of the Germans, invaded Singapore.

The Japanese occupation that followed was a brutal one, and many living in Singapore were cruelly tortured and killed.

Imagine you are a 12-year-old child living in Singapore during this time. You decide to hide from the Japanese army.

Lesson 2 Part 1: The Secret Annexe

Last week, we met Anne Frank for the first time.

Read PAGE 3 of your textbook to remind yourself of key historical facts.

In 1933, Anne Frank and her family moved from Germany to Holland, as Hitler's Nazi Party introduced anti-Jewish laws.

In 1940, however, Germany occupies Holland and introduces the same laws there.

In 1942, Anne's sister, Margot, is summoned to report to a labour camp. As such, the family decides to go into hiding in the Secret Annexe.

As mentioned by Miss Ruby, we are supposed to describe about our day. So I shall talk about the first week since school reopen then. Was happy that i could reunite with all my good buddies again, missed them alot. Had fun with them too. This week was really enjoyable, i was wasnt stressed out or anything, and i have decided! I shall do well in CT2 & EOY exam! Wont let my teachers down yes! 

Oh yes, again about MJ. He's gone from this world and the world's devastated. Its like the day before he died, no one really took notice about MJ, and the next day- Boom- the news about his death shocks us. Heard about his life, pity him in some ways because he didnt really have a happy childhood and he died too young. Rest in peace Michael Jackson.

After changing schools life in greenridge has improved my life.I made new and great friends though I still miss my other friends...anyways,school life is still quite normal...and Mj died,sad...he died too young...
